The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Bracebridge is seeking assistance from the public following a tragic collision on Stephenson Road 1 that resulted in a fatality.
On Sunday, November 17, 2024, shortly before 2:00 a.m., officers from the Huntsville and Bracebridge OPP detachments, along with Muskoka EMS and the Bracebridge Fire Department, responded to reports of a vehicle fire on Stephenson Road 1 East.
The vehicle had veered off the road, collided with a tree, and subsequently ignited. The sole occupant, a 41-year-old man from Port Sydney, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are urging anyone with surveillance footage or relevant information to contact the Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
